The Castle Sinclair Girnigoe Trust (SC055556) is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), and is regulated by OSCR, (the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator).

The Trust was established in 2026 to benefit the community of Scotland as a whole including those interested in the history, heritage and preservation of Castle Sinclair Girnigoe with the following purposes:

  • The Advancement of Heritage through the preservation and or restoration of Castle Sinclair Girnigoe.
  • The Advancement of Education through the provision of detailed historical information relating to Castle Sinclair Girnigoe.

The Trust is run by volunteer Trustees who are elected by Members of the Trust, or occasionally co-opted onto the Board if they have particular skills or knowledge.

Membership is open to groups and individuals aged 16 or over who live in Scotland who are interested in the past, present and future of the Castle. People who live outwith Scotland can become Associates of the Trust.

At least one General Meeting is held annually, where Members can speak and vote, and Associates can speak. Occasionally a General Meeting may be held at other times in the year.

  • Can stand as a Trustee themselves
  • £10.00 per year

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP – for ages 12–15 living in Scotland

  • All of the above, but may not vote or serve as a Trustee
  • Automatically upgrades to full Membership at 16
  • £5.00 per year
